About Earl Young's Team

Victories are sweetest when shared with others. Just ask Earl Young. The moment of glory that came with winning a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics has produced countless moments of joy for others. Earl has taken his medal around the world, placing it in the hands of everyone from school children in remote African villages to heads of state.

In 2012, Earl found himself on the receiving end of teamwork when a stranger in Germany made the selfless decision to donate her bone marrow. Those two defining moments led to the creation of Earl Young's Team, an organization that aims to defeat blood cancer through donor awareness. Please join our team and make yourself available to save a life.

Earl Young’s Team and his partner DKMS have teamed up to fight blood cancer.

Earl Young’s Team has the primary goal of defeating blood cancer through donor awareness. It starts with getting more people to understand the importance of getting their cheeks swabbed, followed by providing them the opportunity to do it.

Our efforts are focused on college campuses because they offer large groups of young, robust candidates who can remain in the registry for decades, and because their energy and spirit are exactly what’s needed to spark a nationwide movement. As a proud graduate of Abilene Christian University, Earl is especially eager to share his message at faith-based universities.

Take it from Earl, helping a team win an Olympic gold medal is great; helping a team save lives is even better.
